You can check the status of your federal tax refund using the IRS's Where's My Refund tool.

Every state has its own system for refund tracking. Processing times and requirements vary, but most ask for identification and refund details.

Looking for another state? Use this tool to find your state :

Gather all of your documents,
Collect your W-2s, 1099s, Identification, SSN or ITIN, and any receipts for deductions (education, business, donations, etc.).
For businesses, make sure to send in bank statements for bookkeeping ahead of time.
Book your tax appointment early, avoid the rush and lock in your spot as soon as possible.
